"Phante" The Magnet

Phante's The Magnet Pattern
Materials Used:
7 count Plastic Canvas Mesh
Needloft Yarn:
#37 Silver - 8 yds.
#00 Black - 2 yds.

To Finish Project:
#310 Pearl Cotton Black - 1 yd.
a piece of sticky magnet

Stitches Used:
Continental Stitch
Embroidery Backstitch
Overcast Stitch

Instructions:
Cut 1 piece of 36X24 threads (35x23 holes) according to the pattern. Follow the
pattern to stitch the project. Overcast the entire pattern in black. Using black
pearl cotton backstitch the detail for the ears, head and back side. Using the
silver thread (about 5 inches) both ends through the front where indicated on the
pattern. Tie into a knot, then pull apart the 2 pieces and braid when you have
the length you want tie into a knot. Cut the ends and trim and then fray the ends.
Put a little glue on the back of the elephant, we used Aleene's Clear Gel Tacky
Glue, and then put the sticky backed magnet piece on top of that. Press down
really hard and possibly even put a heavy book on top so it will keep it stuck.
We found that using some glue helped keep it the magnet on better.
