Materials Used:
(3) 7 count Orange Plastic Canvas Mesh Needloft Yarn: #16 Sandstone - 13 yds. (bear) Stitches Used: Instructions: Cut 2 pieces of 65X83 threads (64X82 holes) for front and back, 2 pieces of 20X83 threads (19X82 holes) for the sides, and 1 piece of 20X65 threads (19X64 holes) for the bottom. Stitch 1 piece of 65X83 threads (64X82 holes) starting 32 threads across and 14 threads down (31x13 holes), with the top of the pumpkin stem, working right to left and then next line left to right, and the pattern continues. This will center the pattern onto the canvas. Stitch the project as directed on the pattern. Remember to cross stitch the bear's nose. When done, using the outline pattern, backstitch the entire pattern in doubled black Pearl Cotton floss. Whipstitch the sides, bottom and back with Black Redheart yarn to the front. Don't forget to whipstitch the top edges of all 4 sides with the Black Redheart yarn. On the front piece of the tote count 15 holes across and 7 holes down thread in 2 pieces of Black Redheart yarn and 2 pieces of Orange Redheart yarn; 16 holes across and 7 holes down thread 2 more pieces of Black Redheart yarn and 2 more pieces of Orange Redheart yarn. Knot all 8 pieces of yarn on the outside of the tote and trim so they are even. Braid all 8 pieces so you have about twelve inches or a little more of braid, then thread 2 pieces of Black Redheart yarn and 2 pieces of Orange Redheart yarn through 49 holes across and 7 holes down. The other 2 pieces of Black Redheart yarn and 2 pieces of Orange Redheart yarn thread through 50 holes across and 7 holes down. Knot all 8 pieces together and then trim so they are even. Do the same for the back piece of the tote, so you have 2 handles. Happy Halloween everyone!!! |
